Venice is a magical, romantic, gently melancholic and expensive city.
You want because in Venice there are plenty of tourists, either because everything costs more here because of the logistics (everything you go by boat and download by hand), or because “mah yes, for once I go to Venice”, finding a place to stay at affordable prices is a challenge.

Budget Hotels in Venice
Here we have selected 4 1 star hotels that we liked because of something extra they have compared to the others and that have rates of 2 nights in Venice without making a mortgage. There is also a small Lido hotel that deserves special mention because it is a 2-star hotel with very cheap prices and very good quality; we could not fail to report it. Remember, however, that you have to add the tourist tax at the prices.
Casa Peron in Salizada San Pantalon is a treat.
The entrance is cured and tiny, but already from the entrance you can see the care that the new managers are putting us.
Renovated four months ago, the rooms are different from the others, some with particular details such as a small internal wooden staircase to reach the floor of the room, a small “sotoportego” (just in Venetian style) to enter a large room for the standards of the city, golden coloured walls to heat the environment.
Breakfast is an extra and is served in the breakfast room.
The rooms are both with private bathroom (all with shower) and with shared external bathroom (in this case, each room has shower and washbasin inside).
The area is quiet because it’s not in the beaten track, but be sure that there are plenty of bacari and restaurants where you can try Venetian specialties such as the “sardines in saor”, cuttlefish on the white polenta and much more.
Another strong point: the staff is ready with a whole range of information and tips to let you discover the wonders of the city.
Rates range from € 100 per night
Reductions are available for longer stays than single nights.
Hotel Santa Lucia
Love this small hotel in a hidden street of Lista di Spagna (the “street” that leads from Santa Lucia station to Rialto and Piazza San Marco) for its location but above all for the garden and the roses.
We start from the location: we said that it is long list of Spain, so in a few steps you are in the flow of routes to reach San Marco, Rialto and the other main points of the lagoon city.
But the value of its position is that it remains in a side street, Calle della Misericordia, and so you just need a turn and you will leave behind the noise to immerse yourself in quiet. Around the building that houses the hotel there is a small rose garden with white buds that helps even more to abandon the memory of the chaos of a few minutes before.
When the season allows, and therefore soon, you can also have breakfast in the garden.
The rooms are with private bathroom or shared bathroom and some have access to the garden.
Rates range from €70 in low season for a shared double bathroom to €120 double room with private bathroom in high season. Here, too, breakfast is separate and consists of a continental breakfast.
Cheap accommodation in venice italy
Directly on the list of Spain to not miss anything of the frenzy of the city.
The rooms are spacious and the staff is particularly helpful and courteous, particular not to be underestimated if you want help in orienting yourself to Venice and make you give straight for what to see and what to eat. But the hotel’s gem, which for a 1 star hotel is not of little value, is that breakfast here is both sweet with homemade cakes and fresh fruit salad as well as a selection of cold cuts and cheeses.
That is why foreign tourists like it very much.
Rates vary depending on the season and occupation from €60 for a double room with shared bathroom to €90 double room with private bathroom, breakfast excluded. Wifi hourly rate from € 2.00
Hotel Al Gobbo
If you are patient and do not have a hurry, Venice will give you incredible stories, such as that of the original owner of the Hotel Al Gobbo in the camp S. Jeremiah.
He, of Italian-Australian origin, wanted to return among the kangaroos and so he left the hotel for 500 lire to a young woman who came from the mountainous area of Treviso. Stories of a life ago.
But the current owners will gladly tell you about it and will also show you the picture/uploading of the hump. That it was really hunchback is then wrapped in mystery: in reality it was called the surname Gobbo.
Today Alessandro manages the ten or so rooms and takes care of the wellbeing of the guests. The movement is always so much. Very suitable for: lovers of old stories and catfiles, because here the royal master is Teo, a splendid example of red cat that turns undisturbed between the corridors and the reception area.
Hotel La Pergola
