If we use two phones and have two different phone numbers that we always carry with us, it may be useful to make sure that the SMS messages you receive on one of the phones, the one we use least, are automatically forwarded to the other one that we check most often.
If the SMS to be redirected is received on an Android phone, then there are several applications that can work for automatic forwarding to another phone, all or even just SMS from a certain sender.
This can be achieved by using those free automation applications for Android such as MacroDroid, AutomateIt Cronoid, IFTTT.
These applications allow you to create automatic rules by making sure that, when you receive an SMS, it is automatically redirected to another phone number.
Some of these applications can also be used to forward only SMS messages that have a certain specific text.
1) Deviation of SMS with MacroDroid
MacroDroid is an automation application for Android that you can use to automatically forward SMS messages to another phone.
Install Macrodroid, open it and add a new macro from the menu.
The activation trigger is “SMS Received” and you can then write to activate the rule only for SMS coming from a certain phone number.
The action is to send an SMS to another phone number to which you want to forward the SMS and define its content.
Save and activate the macro to make sure that, every time you receive an SMS from the specified contact number, it will be deviated and forwarded to the other phone number.
2) IFTTT automatic SMS
IFTTT is one of the most popular automatic actions apps for Android and can be used to deviate SMS messages from one phone to another.
In the application you only need to add an applet by selecting “Android SMS”as the trigger.
The rule then becomes that, every new SMS received from a phone number (which can be chosen), then the action of forwarding that message to another number will be performed.
Here, too, you can add more information to the content of your message.
Finally, activate the applet.
Cronoid can work for SMS deviation.
Here, too, you have to add as a trigger (i. e. as a switch that triggers automatic action) the reception of an SMS and as an action the sending of that SMS to another number.
4) Automated for self-filling of SMS
AutomateIt is yet another app for performing automatic actions of all kinds, easy to configure, which also allows you to redirect SMS messages to another phone.
You must add a new rule by choosing the “SMS with Contact Trigger”rule in the trigger list.
You can then write the phone number whose SMS you want to deviate and then forward them to another number.
With AutomateIt you can also create a rule that is activated when you receive an SMS containing a certain word.
Finally, you can also use the free, unlimited AutoSMS application that specializes only in this type of action to automatically divert and forward SMS messages from one number to another.
The app also allows you to set up filters so that not all SMS messages are diverted, but only a few.
