Mechanisms of Injury Related To Trauma
This course introduces the basic foundation for mechanisms of injury relating to motor vehicle accidents, falls and penetrating trauma, including gunshot wounds and stabbing. Lessons will cover the four vehicle accidents: Head-On, T-Bone, Rear-End and Rollover. Each lesson will identify potential injuries that can be present in a motor vehicle accident and factors that must be evaluated to determine the extent of injury. Three (3) important points will be covered when evaluating any falls and the possible injuries sustained. Students will be able to identify basic ballistic questions that are needed in order to evaluate a gunshot wound, as well as several points to consider with knife wounds. This course would be helpful for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the medical field, especially Nursing or Emergency Medical Services. This information can prove to be valuable to anyone when confronted with any of these traumas.
